On October 27th, Valerie Borchers, an experienced former principal, assumed the interim role. Ms. Borchers is an accomplished educational leader with more than 25 years of experience in public education, including service as a bilingual teacher, instructional coach, district specialist, assistant principal, and principal. Most recently, she supported Austin ISD as a Director of Early Learning and Director of Elementary Schools, mentoring principals across 78 campuses. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is known for building collaborative school communities and supporting educators to achieve meaningful results for students for more than a decade.
